Everything is temporary

I love the beauty of autumn, especially the changing colours of the leaves as the season progresses. Colours that I tend to favour all year round- greens, reds and browns. More than anything Autumn reminds me of change, it reminds me that everything is temporary and one certainly does not have to wait until the new year to make a change in their life.

One shirt, three looks. I love versatile pieces like this lace shirt, which I can dress up and dress down. This shirt is from Zara. There is nothing better than a green shirt; you can pair this colour with nearly anything. Also hat’s and watches are always a good idea! It’s not my aim to tell you where every single item is from. I don’t need to encourage anyone down that terrible path of becoming a shopaholic. However it is my aim is to inspire you regarding styling.

Simply put  ‘It’s not about what you have, it’s the way that you style it.’

I’ve styled this beautiful guipure green shirt with:

  1. A black knee-length leather skirt and green strappy heels.
  2. A pair of blue mom jeans, a patent black belt, a wool floppy hat, a structured handbag and my black block heeled toe boots.
  3. My everyday comfortable leggings, a black beanie, a brown leather handbag (from Sri Lanka- I love unique items) and burgundy dolly shoes.

I know that at this time of year, people’s moods tend to change for the worse (Google seasonal affective disorder). So here are five tips to get you through…

  1. Remember nothing lasts forever, everything is temporary.
  2. God will never give you more than you can bear.
  3. Ask for help if you need it!
  4. You are in charge of your emotions, not the opposite way around.
  5. Just because change doesn’t come easy does not mean you cannot turn over a new leaf.

‘To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven…’ {Ecc 3:1}
